JAMIE MACLEAN - Art Exhibition

The Photography and Fine Art of Jamie MacLean

May 4-6, 2012

Jamie has been a fulltime artist since 2005 following his painting passion after a 30 year career as a practicing engineer, Plant Manager and consultant. All prompted by a simple phrase – “are you doing this because you want to do this or because your were doing this?”
His oil landscapes are about energy, enjoyment, enthusiasm and just being outside. He connects with the viewer through the use of strong colours and shadows, big energetic brushstrokes and pallet knife, dramatic shadows and strong compositions. You can see the wind and place yourself in his settings.
Recently he has added photography to the mix through a series – the Shape of Water. Originally started as reference material for a painting series the subject seemed to suit photogrpahy better with the added wrinkle of an epoxy resin coating to accentuate the “wet look”.
Jamie’s entire body of work and bio can be viewed at his website link

Opening Reception : Meet the Artist : Friday May 4, 6-9pm
Open Saturday May 5, 12-5pm
