Classical Concert with VICTORIA THOMPSON & JOHN FRENCH
Saturday evening May 26 at 7-10pm, CLAUSTRO is pleased to host a House Concert with Soprano, Victoria Thompson & Pianist, John French
JOHN FRENCH was born and raised in Midland where he began piano lessons at the age of 5, with Margery Olmsted. He attended Wilfrid Laurier University where he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree and his ARCT in piano performance studying with Ralph Elsaesser and Garth Beckett. Following a brief period of study in Salzburg, Austria, he attended the University of Toronto where he obtained a Master’s degree in musicology.
VICTORIA THOMPSON obtained her musical training at Wilfrid Laurier University, The Franz Schubert Institute, Baden bei Wien, Austria, and in the United States at the St. Louis Conservatory of Music. Soprano Victoria Thompson’s opera engagements have included: Alice in “Falstaff” at the Banff Festival, the Countess from “The Marriage of Figaro”, in Obihiro, Japan, Miss Pinkerton in “The Old Maid and the Thief” with Opera Theatre St. Louis, Belinda in “Dido and Aeneas” and The Plaintiff in the operetta “Trial by Jury”, with Serenata.

Tickets are $15.00 per person and all proceeds go directly to John and Victoria.
