Killarney Winter 3-day Yurt Expedition · Jan 6, 04:03 pm
We hit our year off on the right foot and celebrated the New Year in this Yurt at Killarney Provincial Park.
Since we don’t have a 4 season tent, we decided to have an easy go on our first winter expedition together (and well, I admit I am a bit of a princess when it comes to cold weather).
We completely lucked out with the weather as it was supposed to be snowing conditions the whole time we were gone. But the sun popped out the first day of hiking and there was only a light snow on the second day. Frigid temps though at -20 to -40 with windchill made us very thankful for the Yurt.
We hiked to Lumsden Lake the first day … 2 hours one way.
Then to the Crack the second day … 3 hours one way.
What a trip!
