PAINTINGS of the MONTH - La Cloche Mountains - February 2011 · Feb 18, 10:23 pm
What a beautiful sunny spring like day for this new series of paintings to be launched!
Each of these paintings were inspired by tripping to Killarney, whether back country near the infamous area of Killarney Provincial Park known as the Crack, or out in the Bay near Killarney. Each piece depicts the classic white quartzite known to the region.

Sculpted Painting Installation - Boulders of Killarney · Feb 6, 09:12 pm
Another successful installation by CLAUSTRO. Below are the before and after photos of a private commission installed in Waterloo Ontario. The clients have yet to install direct lighting onto the piece which will dramatically change the effect of the shadows of the carving.

Pay for Art with Customized Payment Plans · Jan 31, 12:21 am
Live with the art you love..
Not everyone can purchase art outright so here at Claustro, we have established customized payment plans for our clients so that everyone can live with the art you love.
As an example, I am attaching two paintings that are currently available … if a 12 month payment plan was set in place, THE PILLAR ($4600) would cost approx $400 per month, and ROLLING PEAK Triptych, would cost approx $500 per month.

And here’s an example of what other countries are doing to ensure the steady movement of original art.
Set up in 2004 by the Arts Councils of both England and Scotland, Own Art enables people to take home a piece of contemporary art straight away but then pay for it in 10 monthly interest-free instalments, borrowing anything up to £2,000. So far the scheme has made over 14,500 loans to purchase art valued in excess of £11.6 million. “It’s a simple idea that works for artists, buyers and galleries,” says Mary-Alice Stack, development manager for Own Art.
“From farmers to policemen, students to pensioners, we’re making it possible for everyone to buy original art for their homes.”
What an extraordinary marriage of practical and inspired. The article goes on to interview a number of people who took advantage of this offer, asking them how owning art has transformed their lives.
A highlight from those interviews:
“It may sound a bit weird but getting into art has made me appreciate the beauty in things more. When I’m walking the dogs, for instance, I’ve realised that I now notice things like the colour of autumn leaves. It really makes you open your eyes.”

WESTERN ISLANDS Painting · Jan 14, 09:02 pm
A classic depiction of the Western Islands, Georgian Bay … smoothened background rock with bright orange lichen from weathering fierce winds on shore, to craggy rocks as you walk further in land.
A perfect subject for one of our sculpted paintings, the sculpture comes alive captured by different lighting.
